The Laughing Buddha is a symbol of good luck, prosperity, abundance, and good health. The story is that this particular monk was a bit too eccentric to live as a monk, but his heart was full of love and joy, and he was soon beloved. Not a bad reminder to lighten up and giggle a bit!
